[ARCHIVED] Pontiac Charm Trail Adds New Charms

Courthouse Charm

The Pontiac Charm Trail has added several new charms to its collection, two with a particularly local flair. The Charm Trail is a promotional project coordinated by the Pontiac Office of Tourism. Local merchants, museums, and restaurants have joined together to offer locals and visitors alike a unique way to tour the shops of downtown Pontiac. Each participating establishment has for sale one or more pewter charms. People on the Charm Trail can purchase a charm bracelet and then spend the day shopping and filling the bracelet with charms. Bracelets are economically priced at $10 each, and each of the charms is priced at $3.

The charms to be added to the nearly 30 charms on the trail are a Pontiac Jolly Trolley charm and a charm depicting the Livingston County Courthouse. The Courthouse charm is based, in part, on a sketch provided by local artist, Bob Sear. Both of the new charms will be on sale at the International Walldog Mural and Sign Art Museum, 217 North Mill Street in Pontiac. Additionally, the Pontiac P.R.O.U.D. of Illinois Marketplace has added a “Born to Shop,” a “Hand Made,” and an American Flag charm.

For more information on the Charm Trail, brochures are available at the any of the participating vendors, Pontiac’s museums, or at city hall. Information can also be obtained by calling the Pontiac Office of Tourism at (815) 844-5847.
