[ARCHIVED] Civic Plus Amber Alert module deactivation.

The Pontiac Police Department will be deactivating the subscription option of Amber Alerts in the alert subscription service of The Deactivation will take place on November 15, 2012. The reason for the deactivation is due to an inefficient duplication of services. A better option of receiving wireless Amber Alerts already exists. Users can migrate by simply texting the word amber followed by a space and then their 5 digit zip code to 26237. For example text: amber 61764 to 26237. Most wireless carriers participate. Please visit the website below for more details and other ways to subscribe. This method will ensure you are alerted to official Amber Alerts from your local law enforcement. Other emergency messages will continue to be broadcast throught the Emergencies subscription service on this website. If you have any questions, please contact Major Dan Davis at the Pontiac Police Department 815-844-5148.
