[ARCHIVED] Arrests after disturbance near 103 N. Division St.

Several Arrested in 100 block of N. Division 06/16/2020

At 7:59 pm 06/16/2020 Pontiac Police were dispatched to a Fight in Progress call at County Market 406 W. Madison St. Dispatch advised subjects were leaving the store prior to arrival. An officer arrived at 103 N. Division to a group of persons walking on Division St. The Officer attempted to speak to a juvenile to find out what was going on and was quickly surrounded by a group of males screaming at him. He ordered the group back repeatedly and a male juvenile approached the officer and refused to back away. The officer removed his Conducted Electrical Weapon (Taser) again demanding the individuals back away. The male juvenile struck the officer’s arm. The officer deployed the taser which administers a 5 second electrical shock. The probes struck the male in the chest and he fell to the ground. He was arrested without further incident. He was later charged with Aggravated Battery and Disorderly Conduct and released.

Also arrested were:

24 year old Keshawn Tyler for Criminal Trespass to Property and Disorderly Conduct as he had been identified inside County Market and had previously been served a no trespass notice. He was given a notice to appear and released.

18 year old Jonathan Nash was cited for Disorderly Conduct. He was given a notice to appear and released.

On 06/17/2020 an arrest warrant was issued for 21-year-old Cornell Roberson of 103 N. Division regarding his actions on 6/16. He was arrested without incident and is pending bond or appearance at the Livingston County Jail.

PPD retained as evidence video from 2 police vehicles and 2 Conducted Electrical Weapons and photographs  

No taser was deployed to anyone’s face as is what has circulated on social media.
