Alvey Steps up to Mayoral Role

Pontiac City Council Ward 1 Alderman Bill Alvey was sworn in to the position of Acting Mayor during the August 19th City Council Meeting. He elected to remain on the council, thus no new member will take a City Council seat.  A graduate of PTHS class of 1965, he has been a member of the Jaycees, active in multiple service organizations, served on the City Council, sat on the Chamber Board for over 8 years, was president of Pontiac Proud and is looking forward to shaping the city's success in the future. He notes the success and development of industrial, recreational, and family based activities throughout the city, and how they are allowing people to enjoy this as a destination and as a place to call home. He looks to lead this "wholesome, vibrant community" into the future, and is excited to see where Pontiac will go with its abundance of consistent and dedicated leadership.

We wish him all the best, and if you see him in public, make sure to give him a smile or wave!
