[ARCHIVED] Pontiac Community Art Center Gallery Art Show: ‘Dog Days of Summer’

The July 2015 Gallery Show at the Pontiac Community Art Center opens on Wednesday, July 1, 2015 and runs through Thursday, July 30, 2015. This will be an exhibit entitled ‘Dog Days of Summer.’

‘Dog Days of Summer’ will feature three local artists, Pam Beeson, Kathy Sancken, and Shannon Vincent, presenting a gallery show during July entitled ‘Dog Days of Summer.’ Each of the artist's work in different mediums and will present individual pieces along with collaborative works.

Shannon Vincent's contribution to the show includes wearable doggy art and a collection of miniature portraits in watercolor. She asked her friends to send photos of their dogs and was overwhelmed at the response and intense love people felt for their pets. “I knew I had to try and paint them ALL”, she said. Photographer, Pam Beeson, worked directly with dogs capturing their many different personalities in photographs. Glass artist, Kathy Sancken, represents her love of dogs through glass mosaics and torchworked glass necklaces.

‘Dog Days of Summer’ will be shown at the Art Center from July 1 through July 30. The Pontiac Community Art Center gallery located at 103 W. Madison St., Pontiac. Regular hours for the Art Center are Monday - Friday, 10am - 5pm, Saturday, 10am - 4pm, and Sunday 10am - 4pm. There is no admission fee, and the public is welcome.
