The Pontiac Fire Department has taken a big step in working toward their goal of upgrading Squad 66 from Basic Life Support (BLS) Non-Transport to Advanced Life Support (ALS) Non-Transport apparatus by sending 4 firefighters to Paramedic course at OSF Saint James-John W. Albrecht Medical Center.  The course began on June 17th, 2020 and will conclude in September 2021.

The 4 students are FF. Caleb Freese, FF. Josh Easton, FF. Josh Lanning, and FF. Devon Johansen.  With the addition of current FF. / Paramedic Dillon "Eddie" Prendergast the department will have a total of 5 Paramedics on the department.  Once the firefighters have received their Paramedic license the department will upgrade Squad 66 to the ALS level.
