RECENT EVENTS  

 December 24-27,  2009

A storm came through Pontiac on the 24th of December.  The storm brought 1.08 inches on the 24th and 0.22 inches on the 25th for a total of 1.30 inches.  The frost line was 6 inches into the ground and we had several inches of snow when the storm came through.  The rain melted the snow, as a result of this we had an overflow  at CSO 002 and AO2. The CSO at 002 started at 5:30 P.M. and overflowed for a duration of approximately 3 hours. The CSO at AO2 overflowed on December 24th starting at  11:10 P.M and continued untill the 27th at 1:45 pm, there was combined total overflow at CSO A02 of 23.9 hours over the three day period.

November 1 - 2, 2009

With all the rain we reseved on the 29th and 30th, the river continued to stay up around 13 - 14 feet and as a result we continued to have a Combined Sewer Overflow (CSO) at CSO A02 for a durration of 11.1 hours, The pumps were switched back to excess flow tank at 8: 40 am on  November 2nd, 2009.

October 29,30, 31, 2009

An intense storm came through Pontiac, IL.  This storm brought with it 1.91 inches of rain on October 29, 2009 and .87 inches of rain on October 30, 2009.  As a result of the rain, We started overflow pumping at 3:15 am on October 29. The Combined Sewer Overflows (CSO) occurred at CSO A02 for a duration of 6 hours on the 29, 21.2 hours on 30, and 16.0 hours on the 31, for a total of 43.2 hours.  Also at CSO 004 and 005 for a duration of 57 minutes from 9:00 pm until 10:00 pm  on October 29 and for 126 minutes from  11:00 am until 1:45 pm on October 30, for a total of 3.05 hours.

October 24, 2009

On October 24th the City experienced another overflow event from CSO A02, for a period of 9.2 hours from 8:55 AM through 7:30 AM.  During this period there was no measurable rainfall, but the Vermilion River  level increased from a level of 3.2 feet to near 11 feet which caused the overflow event.

The City of Pontiac experienced a 112 minute CSO event at Combined Sewer Overflow # 004 and #005 from 1:30 am through 3:30 am, during the approximate 3 inch rain event that occurred on Friday October 23, 2009.
